About the event
Meeting without purpose with Masanobu Fukuoka
Mu - Nothingness
"Everything we don't need, we don't do. Let us begin to feel, to practice Mu, nothingness."
With these words Tomoko-san imagines the time to be shared on Saturday 6th May. Lunch will be co-created: everyone will bring some previously prepared dough, pizzas, breads, flatbreads will be baked... room for creativity and imagination.
In the evening, the unreleased documentary "The World of Masanobu Fukuoka" will be screened, and the translation from Japanese to Italian will be offered by Tomoko-san: Japanese by origin, Italian by choice, and a practitioner of natural living. This documentary will be an opportunity to approach with curiosity the man who brought natural farming to the western world. If the occasion allows, poems written directly by Masanobu Fukuoka will be read in Japanese with translation to follow.Â
During a recent trip to Japan, Masanobu Fukuoka's rice variety Happy Hill was donated to Kutluhan Özdemir by a farmer practising natural farming not far from Kyoto. At the Shizen farm, these seeds were carefully guarded: some germinating in the seedbed, others donated to those who wished to cultivate, and others stored for direct sowing as it is traditional in Fukuoka's natural farming. On Sunday 7 May, this rice will be transplanted and sown in the paddy field not far from the Shizen farm.
Two days dedicated to Masanobu Fukuoka, natural farming, non-doing, and letting silence speak.
