MISSION AND VISION

Our Mission

The mission of Natural Farm Shizen is to cultivate a living relationship between people, land and life through the practice of natural farming and shared experience.

We aim to care for the soil while nurturing a way of living that is attentive, responsible and rooted in observation rather than control. Through daily practice, education and encounter, Shizen offers a space where farming becomes a path of learning — not only about food production, but about presence, cooperation and belonging.

Our mission is not to teach nature how to grow, but to create the conditions in which both land and people can remember their innate capacity to regenerate, adapt and thrive.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which agriculture is no longer an act of extraction, but a form of dialogue with the earth.

Natural Farm Shizen aspires to be part of a wider movement of places and communities that practice natural farming as a way of caring for life — honoring diversity, local ecosystems and human-scale rhythms. We believe that healthy soil, healthy food and healthy communities arise from the same source: a respectful relationship with nature.

Our vision is of farms as living ecosystems, learning spaces and meeting points — places where knowledge is shared horizontally, where simplicity is valued, and where people reconnect with the land not as owners, but as participants.

Through collaboration, networks such as RAN, and the hosting of workshops and exchanges, Shizen contributes to the growth of a culture that sees farming not as a race for productivity, but as an art of listening, patience and trust.

In this vision, the future is not built by imposing solutions, but by cultivating attention — allowing seeds, both in the soil and in ourselves, to grow in their own time.

"The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” M.F.
